The village council held a regular session with several topics discussed. Officials debated paying firemen who responded to the Blatter house fire and instructed the clerk to contact the insurance company for possible reimbursement.
The Wayne Medina Producers Association held a February 10 1918 meeting at the Conn er Room Ridman. They reached a contract with Akron Pure Milk Co for 95 cents per hundred pounds from February 1 to March 11 1918 for cook and market milk, plus 10 cents for butter fat on surplus milk.

George Holmes was struck by a fast train engine at a street crossing in Elyria Wednesday night at seven and killed instantly. He had lived in Elyria since October 1 prior to that in Rittman and worked for Ohio Boxboard Co. His son Melvin Holmes learned of the death.
