Red Cross Kick-off Tuesday at City Hall
The Red Cross Campaign to fund operating expenses for the coming fiscal year begins with a kick-off meeting Tuesday at 2 pm in City Hall. John Washington was arrested and charged with assault and battery after threatening Frank Clarke with a butcher knife. He appeared before Mayor Ritter, fined $25 plus costs. No Primary Election Declared For Rittman
The Ohio secretary of state ruled no primary election is needed in Rittman. County elections officials and local leaders had expected this, despite earlier hints that a primary might be required if no candidates filed. No Rittman municipal filings occurred before February 5. independents may file by August 6 and run in November as party nominees or nonprimary candidates. The elections office will not be formally open yet but staff will handle petitions and mail inquiries most mornings.
