The Ohio-Boxboard Plant, a major Wayne county industry, adds a 20 000 square foot addition and will be ready soon. It operates multiple colossal presses and machines turning waste paper into boxboard and a wide range of cartons and containers for top users nationwide. The firm supports municipal improvements at its own expense.
The Freeport paper laments a gas and kerosene crisis burdening residents with dim lamps and foul odors. It argues citizens must demand solutions to end the Egyptian darkness and mud while noting other towns face similar light and heat problems and comparing Freeport to Rittman’s protests.
The Canal Fulton team beat the visiting U B S S boys 60 to 6 on the road. It was the visitors first away game, with stage fright and floor condition hampering their play. The loss ends a tough night but the boys are encouraged for their next match.

Council met Monday evening February 17 with all members present to discuss the electric light franchise. Key issues include franchise length conduit system minimum monthly charge and rate per kilowatt. Fredrick urged meters either supplied by the company with 50 cent minimum or consumers pay for actual usage. Council voted to continue negotiations. Civil Engineer Peters spoke on street grades. School issue debated with no action. An ordinance to pay bills was passed.
Rural Carriers of Wayne county convene at Wooster on February 22 to discuss parcel post experiences and plan the upcoming State Convention to be hosted in Wayne County.
