Gail Lance Wins Second Prize at Wayne County Declama

Gail Lance of Rittman won second prize in the Wayne County declamatory contest held Tuesday night in Dalton. Ten schools participated with students performing poems including The Wedding and Betty At The Ball Game. Judges Dr George Frackey and county and area supervisors announced final rankings, noting a last night mix up corrected after the panel’s conference.

By a vote of 32 to 0 the Ohio senate adopted the report dismissing the election contest filed by Lew Fair against Etling. Early reports had claimed Fair won the seat, but subsequent returns showed Etling as the winner.

First Carnival of the Season at Main Street School

Rittman Bowlers Defeated by Doylestown in Close Match

Rittman lost to Doylestown by 68 pins in a Monday night bowling meet at Doylestown. Rittman won the first two games but a late slump in the final game doomed them.
