Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Church of Christ for Thomas L. Lendon Sr., 50, of 77 North Seneca Street, who died Friday night at Wadsworth Municipal Hospital after a lingering illness. Born in Glencoe, Virginia, he had lived in Rittman eight years and was a member of the Church of Christ. Survived by his wife Inez, a son Thomas K. of Rittman, a daughter Mrs. Oris R. Treva O’Neal, two sisters Mrs. Cora Hall and Mrs. Rose Marunchy of Glencoe, and eight grandchildren. Burial in Rittman Cemetery. Evangelist Jack Jones officiated.

Man Arrested on Hit- and-Run DUI Charge
Charles Ray Thompson of 169 North Seneca Street was arrested Friday night by the sheriff's department for driving while intoxicated and for a hit and run. Deputies said Thompson pulled from a parked position and struck a truck on county road 60, four miles south of Rittman at about 1 am. Thompson was arrested several miles away. Damage to his car was about $50. the other vehicle sustained no damage.
