City Considers Income Tax Replace Water Fees In Rittman
City officials in Rittman discussed replacing high water bills with an income tax to fund a North Main St paving project. Ray Pratt urged tax adoption for fairness to retirees, while council considered a referendum route and set a board of equalization for project assessments. The board, Wayne Hults Patricia Schorle and Robert Snyder, will meet February 16 at 7 30 p.m. in council chambers.

Teamsters halt raid on PCA as Red Cross Bloodmobile stops at American Legion Hall in Rittman on Thursday February 19 1976 from 12 00 noon to 6 00 p.m. The drive covers Creston Doylestown Marshallville Sterling and Rittman with a critical need for A negative AB negative and O positive blood. Wayne County residents are told free replacement blood is available nationwide if county quota is met, with hospital administration charges applying only to the patient. Township Buys CB Radio and Limestone for Roads
Milton Township trustees approved purchasing a citizen band radio for the township truck and a base unit for a home. They also accepted 200 pounds of limestone from Jyttle Oil Co. Wooster to resurface roads next summer, saying the limestone is a harder durable surface and costs about the same as gravel. Constable Donald Burkhart reported four accidents and other activity while Fire Chief Bill Greene noted five emergency runs and an upcoming 60 hour training course starting in April.
