Robbery Suspected Near Erie Track in Local Barn Find

Evidence points to a two month old theft at an east of town farm along the Erie railroad. A hidden loft stash contained a single shoe, a shipping container, hair pins, walnuts, and sacks suggesting shoes were removed from a freight house and carried away in sacks. Erie Agent Yoder notified. investigation to continue.

Fines Set in 1920 License Number Case in Shackleford Court

Two men, Willard Lutz of Sterling and Henry Kreider, were fined $15 and costs on Feb 3 for driving with 1920 license numbers. It was the first arrest in 1921 in Rittman for this offense. FBI warnings issued from Columbus to drivers as a Jan 20 deadline passed. owners urged to obtain 1921 numbers at once. William Hershey, the third man cited, faced the same penalty after his car was found with a 1920 plate and a later chat with the justice.

Tax Collector Aids Workers In Rittman At Two Plants

An internal revenue collector visited Rittman on Wednesday and Thursday stationing at the Ohio Salt Co and Ohio Boxboard Co employment offices from 9 am to 3 pm to collect income tax and help employees prepare returns. The service saved time and money by preparing tax papers at the plants at no charge.

Mr A L Ebert, a noted young music dealer in the Sigler Block area, has been honored by Victor Company with a contract. Thieves robbed a mailbox at the Erie depot Thursday night, stealing three mail bags, with light loss expected. Ebert plans a remodeled store, large Victor booths, and a grand opening featuring top vocal and instrumental artists.

Death of Robert Rauschenberg Aged 21 in Wright Street Boarding House

Robert Rauschenberg aged about 21 unmarried died Wednesday night at his Wright and Salt Streets boarding house from pneumonia after over two weeks of illness. He lived in Woodsville Monroe County. His parents, who have been at his bedside for 10 days, will return to Woodaville this Thursday with his body for burial at the family home.

Voters Approve $45,000 Bond for Central High School

In Burbank school district, including the township, residents voted Saturday to issue bonds totaling 45 000 dollars to build a new central high school. The result was 188 votes for and 124 against the proposition.

Gas cases settled in Wayne County courts

Three gas disputes over six years in Wayne County were settled last Friday. Mary Bhillin v Ohio Fuel Supply Co, George Kling v Logan Natural Gas & Fuel Co, and Zelma Starr v Logan Natural Gas & Fuel Co arose from landowners alleging improper drilling of offset wells. The Shilling case had a partial reversal and remand by the Ohio Supreme Court before the settlement.
