The Apostolic Church of Ohio and The Good Samaritan Society outline convalescence home plans in the Rittman area, indicating two nursing care centers on the drawing board. The Good Samaritan project has drawn the most publicity in recent weeks.
Groundbreaking tentatively set for June 28 for Apostolic Christian Home on eight acres at Twp 108 across from the Rittman church. Non profit, single story with 50 beds per wing in two 25 bed wings, with two more 25 bed wings later. Open to public, funded by private contributions totaling about 720000. Mick Clark notes feasibility study showed real local need and supports both facilities serving the community.

Formal charges filed by the Medina Grand Jury name Roy Young of Rittman in connection with Lawson store robberies. He faces three counts aggravated robbery two counts kidnapping and one count felonious assault. Arraignment set for yesterday at 11 a.m. in Medina.
Alpha Beery Life Resident Alpha Beery Life Resident Alpha Beery, 74, of RD No. 1 Steiner Rd., died Thursday at Massillon City Hospital after a three month illness. Born Sept 10, 1900 in Milton Twp. to Isaac and Mary Steiner Beery, he was a lifelong area farmer who retired in 1967 and belonged to the Apostolic Christian Church. He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. Surviving are his wife Martha and nieces and nephews.
Wayne County Regional Planning Commission members elected Wilford Blatter of Rittman as president for the coming year. The Wooster meeting last week also chose Lyman Wells as vice president Floyd Gwin as secretary and Clarence Barnes as treasurer.
Mrs. Judy Emery is named the new Clerk of Courts for the City of Rittman succeeding the late Mrs. Jerry Griffith. Emery, a former Rittman Press employee, lives on 152 S Hickin Avenue with her husband Eugene and daughters Kris Melinda and Cheryl.
Merchants on the square push for more downtown parking as the Business Development Corporation sells a half acre on Ohio Ave to the First Baptist Church. Rev. William Harris says the undeveloped land will become a parking lot. The site was slated for a U S government post office originally.

William H Williams aged 70 of 75 W Sunset Dr died early Sunday after a three week illness at Wad sworth Rittman Hospital. Born October 5 1904 in Deerfield Ohio he lived in Rittman 45 years. He worked 43 years at Packaging Corp of America retiring in 1968. Surviving son Gerald of Rittman daughters Kathleen Cox Mesa Arizona Judy Krahenbuhl Rittman nine grandchildren seven great grandchildren. Services were held at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Hillcrest Gardens Wad sworth conducted by Rev James E Watt.
A Brazilian exchange student named Cidinha Furlan Mioto arrives in Rittman to live with the Knapic family for a year. The 11th grader from Sao Joaquim da Barra in Sao Paulo state brings sports interests, languages, and hopes of seeing snow. She stays with Dr and Mrs William Knapic and may visit other local families during her stay.
John Farlow a Government teacher at Rittman High School was selected to join a Legislative Process Study Program in Columbus February 9 to 12. Eight Ohio teachers will attend each week, chosen by a committee from applications and references. Each participant will receive 100 for hotel and meals, with the program run by the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation in cooperation with state bodies to study the Ohio General Assembly.
