John Reese, 75, was found dead on the living room floor in Creston Monday morning. He had lived alone until his son Walter moved in recently. Investigators say he had been in ill health for some time and the son became alarmed by the quiet night.
The State Highway Director has not yet decided whether to designate the new Rittman Wadaworth route as an inter county highway. Local residents favor the change citing expected traffic from Cleveland via Wooster Smithville Portage Road Rittman Wadaworth and Hinckley.
Marcus Englehart of Chicago and Miss Alice Marble wed Christmas morning at 10:30 at the Presbyterian Manse with Rev. R. L Platter. Bride daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Marble of North State St. and popular among the young set. Groom from Chicago, formerly with Ohio Boxboard Co. They will reside in Rittman.
On Monday January 4 1926 grand jurors of the January term of common pleas court will report to Judge Starn to receive instructions and begin work. George Schmaltz of this place is among those drawn and has been notified by Sheriff Bucher to report for duty.
Following their annual custom the Ohio Salt Co and the Ohio Bezboard Co presented each employee with a five dollar bill as a Christmas remembrance. Distribution was made on December.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude for the many kind acts from the community following the death of their husband and father, Mr Anthony Rupp. Mrs A Pupp and children extend thanks and praise to all who offered support.
The budget commission completed work and fixed rates for taxing districts. County board receives complaints from property owners who say their real estate is overtaxed in the tax duplicate. Objections are filed in order and will be heard after the new year.

Benjamin McFadden of Holmes county, employed locally, married Christmas night to Miss Elsie Force of Shreve by Rev. R. B. Tuck at Wooster. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs Tom Force, teaches school at Honeytown. The groom is regarded as estimable and friends wish them a long, happy life.
Northern Ohio saw a white Christmas and a wave of winter weather peaking Saturday night into Sunday with the coldest air of the year. By Monday the weather moderated and forecasters expect a gradual rise to normal winter temperatures.

Resolution notes Sister Raff of Rittman Temple No. 541 has been called to her reward by the Almighty Father. It mourns her fraternal life and extends sympathy to her family. Charter draped for thirty days and resolutions entered in minutes.
The Wayne county budget commission fixed and announced the tax rate for 72 taxing districts. Rittman’s rate is 1980 per thousand, down from 25.80 last year and 28.20 years ago, with officials projecting a downward trend aided by school economy.
School will convene on Monday January 4 1926 after a vacation that began December 23 The long holiday found many teachers at home and several students visiting out of town relatives.
Rittman A C defeated UM Wadsworth 33 to 28 at the High School Gym on Tuesday. In the second game Rittman High Boys beat Sharon Center 31 to 29.
The annual tree, though not the largest, was the most beautiful when lit. Christmas Eve services drew strong attendance at 6:30 with Santa present. Residents sang carols including Joy to the World O Come All Ye Faithful and Silent Night. Supt Garver gave the invocation and Supt Honnold led the singing. Rev Barton delivered the benediction. The event was organized by the Rittman Auto Club with help from the Rotaract and the Rotary club.
Miss Ellanbeth Miller aged 58 years was found dead in bed at her home on Conturatrevet Seville last Saturday night. Dr and Mrs Harry Hard visited and found her in good health earlier that day. They knocked at about 10 o clock and again an hour later with no reply. They forced entry and found Miss Miller dead on the floor. Floor trouble is stated as the cause of her sudden demise.
Rittman Grange hosted a regular meeting with a Christina themed program including recitations, poems, and musical selections. Members highlighted the year’s most interesting Grange activity and planned for January 8 when new officers will be installed with Thomas Barnes of Cannan Grange to report on state Grange matters.
Mrs. A J Yochheim of North State Street died suddenly last Wednesday evening from acute indigestion at age 64 years 9 months and 17 days. Survived by husband five children and several grandchildren. Funeral held at Presbyterian Church with Rev. Stobert L Platter preaching. interment in Massillon.
