A recently published roster adds several names to the senior roll with Anthony Cordas John Berece Glenn Woyat Mike Lamic Carl Schaffter Dale Litman among those recognized. The list is expected to grow as more inductions occur, with a subsequent group inclusion planned for Ded on the 25th.
Letters to Santa from several children describe their good behavior and list gifts they want. Nancy Schorle asks for a big doll, doll house, weaving set, and a cabinet for dishes. Timmy Tommy Tony Rupp andAnn Harrison request toys including a tractor, fire engine, airplane, wind up train, and railroad track.
Bank official Cashier Ralph Krabi announces Rittman Savings Bank will again offer a convenient place to pay county real estate taxes. Tax statements and payments can be processed at the branch.
The U B Sunday school Children department presents a Christmas program on Wednesday December 23 at 7 30 p m with piano preludes and multiple performances. Named participants include Twila Shook Sandra Kohler Mary Ann Boston Freddy Blough Patty Eggeman Clara Foggett Curtis Melvin Jack Yost Jack West Norma Raff Lois Wright Patsy Wilmot Virgil Whims Lynette Winkler Virginia Kick Dick Baker Connie Campbell Mary Lou Swigart Joan Orr Rhea Schand Shepherds and others with Norma Lee Campbell Beverly Schaad Anna Marie Clark and Marvin as accompanist.
Eight Rittman stores including Ben Franklin Grella's and Wald's Men s Wear will close Saturday after Christmas, returning to normal Monday. Robinett's Cut Rate and other outlets will have limited hours or stay open on Christmas Day. service stations likely operate 7 PM closing. A. B. Thomas Drug Store remains open Sunday.
Word reached Saturday that Mrs Ben Miller nee Lizzie Liechty was found dead in bed at her Albuquerque home about December 16. She was sister of J A Liechty of Farmers Dairy Products and sister-in-law of the late Mike Miller of Rittmar. A Liechty brother died earlier this month in Cleveland.
Sergeant Donald E. Yoder of Wadsworth recently graduated from Harlingen Army Gunnery School Texas earning expert aerial trigger man wings. He is a nephew of Mrs Charles Miller of South State Street Rittman and was promoted to sergeant likely to join a bomber crew. Mrs Miller has 11 nephews and one son-in-law in the service.
Virgil tied Pittman of Rittman Ohio and Boxtrand Os employee and faxine Adkine of Rittenan are listed in marriage applications. The notice records names and places connected with the prospective union.
Rittman and Doylestown township areas press toward the large county total of 2,737,570 in war bond and treasury note sales. Local quotas were 206,600 with Sterling and Creston banks early subscribers. Creston in the county reported 73,325 of 60,500 quota. Sterling showed 43,975 of 36,100. Largest single investment was a 25,000 bond purchase by First Federal Savings Loan of Wooster.
About 100 dairy producers near Rittman attended the annual stockholders meeting of Farmers Dairy Products Co at Branigan Hall Monday. Three directors were re-elected for three-year terms: Ed Steiner F A Baumann and Reuben Studer. Prof Monroe of Ohio State University spoke on modern dairying in Ohio. On Tuesday afternoon December 29 at 2 20 the Diana Theatre will host a free matinee for the children of Rittigan. The annual party celebrates the year's patronage as announced by C L White.
