Pilgrim Village Projects Highlight Fifth Grade Studies
Mrs Osterland and two other teachers' classes built Pilgrim villages as part of a New England unit. Students made candles by dipping wicks and preparing tallow, learned pilgrim clothing, food, and self-sufficient living, and created villages with log houses and Indigenous figures. Each class elected governors and councils, produced reports, held mock trials, and presented oral summaries of the New England states.

RG Beer Corp Mansfield submitted the apparent low bid of 559,960.41 for the Rittman sewage treatment plant project. A federal EPA grant would cover 30 percent of the cost up to 175,000, making award decisions hinge on the low bid and performance. The council expects to award from the present bids if construction starts by February under Ohio Water Development Authority supervision.
