Fisher hunter returns with deer and bear from Pennsylvania hunt

J HL Fisher of Elmira NY returned from a hunting trip in the Allegheny mountains near Alba PA where he bagged a red fox a four prong buck and a black bear estimated at 200 pounds. The party used a $10 Pennsylvania license and arranged mounting for the skins in Rochester NY with guides Heidi Packard and local settlers.

Municipal water works chief injured at napsal power station

C A Rasley superintendent of the municipal water works and sewage disposal plant was injured Sunday evening around seven as he became entangled in a belt while working at the napsal power station. He freed himself before being drawn in and sustained burned clothing and injured ribs. He received medical care from Dr Toland at the Ghno Salt Co office and is recovering.

Automobile Mishap Near Seville Injures Ruth Swander

Earl Day of Seville assisted by Mrs Swander and Ruth Swander in a car crash between Ruena and Sterling. The vehicle overturned in a ditch, trapping all occupants. Mrs Day escaped by breaking a window. Ruth Swander sustained a broken collarbone and remained unconscious the morning after the accident. others were bruised but not seriously hurt.

Kneta Tacakovich a foreign resident of White City died Saturday evening at his home from pneumonia following influenza. He was single with no known relatives in Akron or Barberton who took charge of the body. Undertaker Ebert transported him to Akron for Monday morning funeral. He worked at Oh Boxboard Co for years and rumors say he amassed wealth, with figures ranging from 2500 to 12000 dollars, though these reports are unconfirmed.

308th Engineers in Front in October Action

A letter from Charles Shatter in the Doylestown News describes the 8th regiment of engineers in heavy fighting on October 30. Shatter recalls trenches, going over the top, and deconstruction work amid air battles and shell explosions. The 308th is linked to a number of Rattman bey units.

Sugar sale limits were lifted allowing dealers to buy directly from wholesalers and sell to customers. A grocer received seven bags by freight without ordering them first. Indications suggest ample sugar for everyone, a relief to residents of Rittman who had scarce supplies for weeks.

Under Supt. Lan dis, Rittman public schools pupils sold 1456.53 dollars in War Savings stamps through September 1. The district had no prior effort to call for stamps, yet the campaign was successful and pupils showed strong interest and support.
