Veney damage case against Erie dismissed without prejudice

The $6,621 claim by Peter Veney for damage to a milk truck struck by an Erie train at Sterlingave Crossing in Rittman was dismissed by Judge Graven in Wooster Common Pleas. The dismissal occurred because Veney's Cleveland attorney could not attend the trial. the jury had been assembled and witnesses had appeared. Veney may refile the case.

Two Men Electrocuted At Wayne Township School House

Charles L Allishouse died instantly when a raised pump touched high tension lines in Wayne township. Frank Burkett, 76, was severely shocked and hospitalized in Creston. he later showed signs of recovery. Allishouse was 55, married with no children and served as Wayne township board president.

Auto license tags for 1921 are already on sale at some points. The Akron Automobile Club has sold 1000 license numbers to members and others. Distribution will become general before the year ends and there will be no delay in issuing 1921 tags unlike 1920 when a court decision delayed the release.

Meat Market Moves to New Room Opposite Realty Block

L E Stoolmiller proprietor of the Erie meat market moved his business into his own room opposite the Realty block today. Stoolmiller bought the property a year ago and had planned the move for some time. About a month later the Rittman Savings Bank will relocate to the south end of the Realty block, and around January 20 Sam Escovitz will move his clothing and shoe store into the room next to the new bank building. It is not yet known what will fill the vacated south end rooms on Main St.

Judge Levine dismissed the petition by J W Wilson Columbus broker seeking receivership of Temp Iw Motors. Pool room proprietor fined for allowing underage pool playing

Ferdinand Schriber, operator of a Main Street pool room, paid 25 dollars in costs after pleading guilty to allowing minors under 18 to play pool. Mayor Shackelford had warned pool rooms and tobacco dealers to obey newly enforced laws, making Schriber’s arrest the first under the notice.

Serbian Worker Held in Medina on Burglary Charges

Serbian known here Nick Causman who worked at a Ratiman factory about three years ago is jailed in Medina on a $6000 bond facing burglary and larceny and concealed weapons counts. Arrest of Mike Rabith for Rabbit Trespass and Ferret Charge

Mike Rabith proprietor of a Balt strafe appeared in Mayor Shackelford's court to answer a trespassing charge for hunting rabbits on Charles Gish farm Friday. He pled guilty and was fined 16 dollars plus costs. A second case charged him with hunting rabbits with a ferret. he pled not guilty and a trial was set for December 21 at 1 PM with a 300 dollar bond.
