The Rittman Legion Juniors beat Wadsworth 5 to 4 on Friday and Massillon Merchants Juniors 4 to 3 on Saturday. Hardiman opened Friday’s scoring. Members of the Rittman American Legion post and the Rotary club joined Camp Manatec near Peninsula for dinner and entertainment. Commander John Tilean and Ernest Harrison led the group with A. J. Grant and Charles Bradshaw guiding a Scout tour of facilities including the lake fields lodges tree houses and tepees. A demonstration by the Akron YMCA fencing team followed the 8 p m meal with about 200 boys present.

Marshal Apprehends Wilson for Disorderly Conduct
Burnis Wilson of Rittman was arrested by Marshal Heffelman at 3 59 a m for intoxication and disorderly conduct. He smashed a window in John Britton’s parked car, received three stitches for a thumb cut, and pled guilty before Mayor Roy Baker. He was fined 30 dollars and placed on one year probation.

Rocket the Ziegler dog wins large field trial at Brookfield
Rorket a three year old cross bred dog belonging to Ziegler brothers of Marshallville won the one grand final field trial at Brookfield near Massillon last Sunday August 14. Rocket faced a field of logs from Ohio Michigan and Pennsylvania in one of Ohio's largest chases sponsored annually by the Farmers and Sportsman's League of Stark County. Rocket also won one heat and three in his heat.

Clayton Hoover of Rittman R D sustained a serious foot injury last Thursday on the Dave McConnell farm south of Rittman. A platform gave way and his foot was crushed in the machine’s separator. He was taken to Wadsworth hospital where the large toe was amputated. He rests comfortably and may be discharged soon.
