A Thursday forenoon crash in an alley near Her shey and Robbers injured Ruth Rook when struck by a machine driven by her uncle Ollie Lookabaugh. Dr Prout reports severe facial and forehead injuries but expects a speedy recovery.

Art Thompson Hurt In Accident Near Shindishburg

Last Saturday at about 4 30 Art Thompson uncle of Ford Thompson of Shindishburg fractured one rib and broke his ankle while cutting vats on the Ford Thompson place. He went to get a drink and the mule team, hearing whistles from the salt works, started toward home. Thompson was pursued by his nephew and fell, sustaining injuries. He was taken to the Ford Thompson residence and was reported rapidly recovering.

Mills Blakley Tumaries Hold Tenth Annual Reunion

The Mills Blakley tumaries held the tenth annual reunion at Rittman Park on Saturday August 12. The forenoon featured visiting and games, followed by a short program and business meeting electing A a Mills president Mrs NO Snyder Lee Mills treasurer and C Ro Mills arrangement chair. Park was set for next year and notable attendees included William Mills of Creston and Mr MEB Mills, who turned 92 on July 18.

Death calls a former resident Eddie Sigler at 52

Eddie Sigler died August 13 after a two week illness at Johnsons Corners. The Barberton and township trustee was 52, leaving a wife and two sons. Funeral rites were conducted by Eagle and Moose lodges, with a long procession to Doylestown.

Fire damages house off Sterling Avenue near Salt Works

A Friday afternoon blaze gutted a house off Sterling Avenue occupied by Otto Miller and James O’Runner of the salt works. Miller escaped as flames touched his exit. owner Louie Quigandet’s home was destroyed by an oil stove fire. Fire crews extinguished the blaze in under 30 minutes, with local praise for the speedy response.

First Memorial Held for Rittman Lodge K of P

The first memorial exercises of Rittman Lodge 766 K of P were held in Rittman City Park Sunday. Bechtel's Concert Band led a march from Schoryger's hall to the park where Rev Shafer delivered a memorial address. Woodmen attended in good numbers with axes. An intended village lodge participation was hampered by a notice issue.

Cilman J. E. Hanes dies at 72 in Homer Ohio

Cilman J. E. Hanes died at his home in Homer Ohio last Sunday afternoon from a stroke. He was 72 years old and survived by his wife and the Hanes family of local merchants. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon with obituary to follow next week.
