School board seeks two high school teachers and maintenance officer
Superintendent W H Haten asked the Rittman board of education to hire two high school teachers a math and a speech teacher and an evening maintenance and cleaning man for the high school. The district also deputizes the maintenance worker and granted a two year leave of absence for Robert Schloneger to teach in San Juan Puerto Rico. Three Fires Firemen Answer Three Calls This Week
Rittman Volunteer Fire Department responded to three calls with minimal damage. A woodpile blaze near the Ray Weyand home at Goat's Hill, Friday at 5 30 p.m., threatened the Weyand residence but was contained. Fire caused about $10 damage. A short in a Sam Pritchard station wagon engine at 63 Grant Street caused no further damage. A grease fire in an upstairs kitchen at Agnes Blackwell’s home, 187 East Sunset, was controlled by 5 15 p.m. Friday.
