Reunions planned at the park list dates through September with multiple families. Amstutz family plans to reserve the park for the death Saturday in June each year and several groups have already booked for next summer.
Seven Rittman Boy Scouts were advanced in rank at the Court of Honor held last Thursday in American Legion Rooms. Raymond Rogers received First Class, while Jay Rohrer, David Fredrick, Ned Gilbert, Harry Escovitz, Myron Davis and William Ohler were all awarded Second Class ranks.
The American Legion Auxiliary convened on Monday August 10 to select delegates for the state convention in Cleveland from August 16 to 18. Mesa Clara Boling and Mrs Lillian Breece were chosen to represent the Rittman Auxiliary. At the first September meeting the group plans a birthday party.
The Press Publishing Co will stop publishing the 1g-page church ad after this issue due to miscommunication about 15 week contracts. About 20 percent signed claim the contracts are invalid. management will cancel all contracts unless the remaining 80 percent insist on further publications.
A 10 to 20 minute entombment occurred when Mary Koehler granddaughter of Gotfried Bauman fell between straw stacks at a farm near Sterfing after two girls climbed peaks and slid down. Rescuers freed her, she survived with only fright and straw in mouth.
The 26 Ohio villages including Rittman shifted from rural to urban status between 1920 and 1980 due to census rules that classify places of 2500 or more as urban. Other towns such as Chagrin Falls and Maple Heights also moved, while some near city cores remained mostly rural trade centers.
T John Brown aged 67 father of Mra Hatty Schaad died here Wednesday night after suffering a stroke during a visit to his daughter in Creston. He came from Canton for a weeklong vacation. Funeral at his daughter's home Saturday at 7 oclock with burial in Creston. he is survived by his wife and seven daughters including Mrs Schaad and Miss Mary Brown. A O Ebert to conduct services.
Walter Scott of Salinas and Myrtle Roose of Goshen Indiana were married Saturday evening August 29 at the First Methodist church in Salinas. Rev Frank C Fart officiated with only immediate relatives present. The couple planned to honeymoon at Brookdale Lodge and will reside in Salinas.
The Rittman Fire Department plans a two day performance of Corporal Fagen produced with Universal Producing of Fairheld Iowa. The comedy promises clean patriotic community entertainment with elaborate costuming and scenic effects and aims for a strong audience turnout at the HS auditorium on September 24 and 25.
Medina and Wayne County women may register for the annual Medina Wayne Camp to be held August 16 to 19 at Camp Rag near Medina. Registration must be sent by August 16 to County Agent GA Dustman Wooster or County Agent Virgil Burris in Medina. The camp opens after noon Sunday and closes after noon Wednesday. groups may register together.
J B Hickin and sister Martha vacation two weeks in Newtonville Massachusetts. They left Saturday with the Eugene Hickin family driving toward Center OffYover.
Mrs Harris learned Friday of the death of her mother Mrs E M Conrad in Homey Florida after a car accident blamed on travel. The Conrads formerly lived near Creston and were visiting children when the fatal crash occurred while en route home from the north.
Mrs Ureula Habie, who has been with her brother Jacob Kendy and others for months, is reported to have returned to Hawthorne California. Meru Habis left Ritman to live in California about four years ago.
A Marshallville catcher was cut on the nose and broken in a late play during a playground ball game on Monday when a fast ball fouled. Rittman team was fielding.
The Rittman Girl Scouts plan a picnic next Wednesday. All attendees should meet at Mrs. Tom Galehouns home on First Street at three o'clock.
A Fritz reunion is scheduled at Rittman Park on Saturday. Attendees are asked to bring photos and memories to share as the community gathers for the event.
On vacation, office closes from August 23 to 31. C C Gregg DD and Willard Landis return Friday from efficiency work at Goodyear branches in Brooklyn New York and Boston Massachusetts.
A meeting of men interested in football is set for Tuesday evening at 645 at the Rittman Press office. A town football team will be organized at that time.

Linn's Gang defeated Sterling 11 to 0 at Sterling in a game noted for a slick double play by Breeze and strong defense by Bronce. Hall pitched for Rittman, holding Doylestown to no hits in a later win. a Sunday playground tourney sponsored by Whitey Linn featured five teams and a prize fund.
Elaine and Ray Wilson accompanied Mr and Mrs A B Alan to their home in Los Angeles California today Elaine a member of this year’s graduating class plans to enter the University of Southern California this fall Ray left Rittman last February returning with his aunt and uncle for a month’s visit He was formerly connected with the Rittman Press.
In Rittman the Democratic party polled 223 votes across three precincts, more than double the Republican 106 ballots. Shackelford leads the Republican mayoral ticket against current Mayor Hanes who won the Democratic nomination by 46 votes. Forrer edged Shook 5 vote margin for Village Clerk, while Glen Biogier fights a Democrats’ challenge for Clerk next fall.
Mra Marie Ouimet 96 mother of Abv Charles J Ouimet pastor of St Ann s church Pittsfield died Saturday evening at her home in Pittsfield Mass Born Barthelm Pa and wed in Pittsfield 69 years Her husband a Civil War veteran died earlier She leaves three daughters Lena Boyer Phoebe Ouimet and Mrs James Hogan eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren Funeral services were held Tuesday at Notre Dame church with burial in St Joseph s cemetery
Mr and Mrs Charles Miller and family attended the Welday reunion at Rice's Dam on Sunday August 9. Relatives hailed from Wadsworth Warren and beautttshuts except the Millers. The group voted to meet next year on the second Sunday in August at the same site. First family reunion.
