Park Reunion Schedule Across Rest Of Year

Reunions planned at the park list dates through September with multiple families. Amstutz family plans to reserve the park for the death Saturday in June each year and several groups have already booked for next summer.

Scouts Hold Court of Honor In Rittman

Seven Rittman Boy Scouts were advanced in rank at the Court of Honor held last Thursday in American Legion Rooms. Raymond Rogers received First Class, while Jay Rohrer, David Fredrick, Ned Gilbert, Harry Escovitz, Myron Davis and William Ohler were all awarded Second Class ranks.

Delegates named for state convention by Rittman Auxiliary

The American Legion Auxiliary convened on Monday August 10 to select delegates for the state convention in Cleveland from August 16 to 18. Mesa Clara Boling and Mrs Lillian Breece were chosen to represent the Rittman Auxiliary. At the first September meeting the group plans a birthday party.

Will Discontinue Church Ad Contracts In Dispute

The Press Publishing Co will stop publishing the 1g-page church ad after this issue due to miscommunication about 15 week contracts. About 20 percent signed claim the contracts are invalid. management will cancel all contracts unless the remaining 80 percent insist on further publications.

Mary Koehler Buried Ten Minutes In Straw Stack

A 10 to 20 minute entombment occurred when Mary Koehler granddaughter of Gotfried Bauman fell between straw stacks at a farm near Sterfing after two girls climbed peaks and slid down. Rescuers freed her, she survived with only fright and straw in mouth.

Rittman Among 26 Former Villages Now Called Urban

The 26 Ohio villages including Rittman shifted from rural to urban status between 1920 and 1980 due to census rules that classify places of 2500 or more as urban. Other towns such as Chagrin Falls and Maple Heights also moved, while some near city cores remained mostly rural trade centers.

Dies While Visiting Daughter in Creston

T John Brown aged 67 father of Mra Hatty Schaad died here Wednesday night after suffering a stroke during a visit to his daughter in Creston. He came from Canton for a weeklong vacation. Funeral at his daughter's home Saturday at 7 oclock with burial in Creston. he is survived by his wife and seven daughters including Mrs Schaad and Miss Mary Brown. A O Ebert to conduct services.

The Rittman Fire Department plans a two day performance of Corporal Fagen produced with Universal Producing of Fairheld Iowa. First Primary Ballots Show Democrats Leading In Rittman Vote

In Rittman the Democratic party polled 223 votes across three precincts, more than double the Republican 106 ballots. Shackelford leads the Republican mayoral ticket against current Mayor Hanes who won the Democratic nomination by 46 votes.
