Mail delivery plans and public notices in village

Postmaster H F Longenecker and Village Carrier E O Frank review house numbers mail receptacles and eligible residents for village delivery. Requirements include 50 percent street improvement sidewalks to be built walks to residences and receptacles within feet of sidewalks. Some residents may use rural boxes or remain with existing offices. Ice Cream Festival and Chautauqua meeting announced with local events featuring Rittman Band and hot dogs next week at Legion room and home of Mrs Elva Derthick.

Remodeling in Realty Block Signals New Drug Store in Rittman

Fred Snyder plans a new drug store in the Realty Block with remodeling of his room to provide two entrances. A bridge project on the Rittman-Woodsworth road delays opening. A public hearing on the school budget is set for August 24 at 7 30 PM at the high school.

Wayne County Fish and Game Club Elects Directors

At a recent meeting of the Wayne County Fish and Game Club Joe Sherrick and John Heo Fisher were named directors. The club, with over 60 members, received from the State a half carload of various fish and 100 Ringneck pheasants. More than 40,000 small fish will be released into ponds in Abe shuiiin eastern part of the county, and six pheasants will be distributed across the county, with 30 in Milton township.

Sunday School Picnic At Wooster Home Event

The UORB church Sunday School held its annual incense picnic Saturday afternoon near Wooster. Children from the town traveled by various means to the home arriving in good time. A community picnic featured sport events and a dinner in the dining room due to rain.

Seville Hostesses Entertain Bible Sunday Class

Mrs Howard Qualman and Mrs Vance Hickin entertained the Bible Sunday School class from the Baptist church Seville Tuesday evening with a picnic dance on the lawn and an evening of games and conversation. Twenty seven guests enjoyed the hospitality of the two matrons.

Rittman Beats Maysville In Sunday Baseball Duel

The local ball club defeated Maysville 2 to 4 2. The Sunday game featured a pitchers duel with Schasad for Rittman and Spencer for Maysville. Several new players appeared and contributed well as Rittman prepares for a test match against Waynesburg Tuesday evening.

The county clerk explains that automobile bills of sale are filed by the Clerk of Courts not the County Recorder. Mortgages and deeds are handled by the recorder, hence the recorder receives many Joe N Saed ta billa. If mailed, automobile bills of sale should be addressed to the Clerk of Courts.

Mro and Mrs Daniel Wright of Oak Park accompany Mr and Mrs Rollin Shook and family of Apple Creek on a motor trip into Pennsylvania. Mrs Chas Wright and daughter Dorn left Sunday morning for the journey. In Pennsylvania they will visit Mr and Mrs Joe Martin, former residents now living there many years. Mrs Martin is widow of the late Charles Wright.

Lewis Steiner and Misa Thelma Dowd wed last Saturday in Mesros Michigan after motoring there with many local friends. Bride is daughter of Mr and Mrs H Dawe of Ohio. groom is son of Mr C Krist Zuber north of town. Both employed in local factories and now on a honeymoon trip.

An Ohio Salt Co team drowned after fleeing toward a pond during work near a large expanse. The horses and team disappeared into the water when a quick turn failed. Experts spent part of the past week trying to secure another team, but no clear success emerged.

College of Wooster Restricts Student Auto Use Without Permission

In Wooster Ohio on August 10, the College of Wooster announces students may not own or operate automobiles without written permission from parents and the Dean. The rule, adopted by faculty last June, grants permission only to students with Wooster-based parents who own cars or those who commute daily. violations may result in loss of driving privileges and auto parking restrictions on campus.

Girl Prisoner Leaps From Fast Train at Sterling

A girl prisoner being moved from Akron to the Women's Reformatory leaped from a 60 mph train near Sterling Tuesday morning. She rolled along the right of way, disappeared, and was later found unhurt in a barn. She was returned to Akron.
