Heavy rains caused extensive damage across Rittman with flooded basements, impassable Industrial and Front Streets, and several businesses closing. Daley's Furniture Store faced stock loss and planned a sale. farms near Sterling reported crop devastation. Doylestown Homecoming tents and carnival exhibits were destroyed with about 1000 dollars in damages at the fair grounds.

Doylestown approves mutual aid with Rittman fire dept
Doylestown council passed a mutual aid agreement with Rittman fire departments on Tuesday night. Fire Chief Carl Whitman submitted the proposal and council also approved $200 to send Whitman to the Fire Chiefs Convention in Los Angeles. A trash pickup complaint was raised with residents urged to place barrels out on time. West of Route 5 collect on the first Tuesday monthly and east of Rt 5 on the first Wednesday.
