Two Rittman youths charged with theft
Two Rittman youths were arrested by Rittman police about 3 a.m. Saturday for breaking into the Freed garage on Main Street. They confessed to burglarizing Hiles garage taking keys checks and three automobiles. All cars were recovered. An attempted theft from the Ohio Boxboard Corp parking jets by crossing the wires was unsuccessful. They will be tried Friday morning before Judge Brenneman in Wooster.

Polio Death Ends Roberta Hayton’s Wedding Plans
Roberta Hayton of Prichard W Va died of polio at Aultman Hospital Canton after being stricken July 7. She was Wayne county's first polio fatality of 1953 and 18th polio patient. Funeral held at Baptist church Prichard. Survived by parents Ezra and unnamed mother, eight sisters and two brothers. Burial in Prichard church cemetery.

Child Injured In Fall From Tree
Lana Marie 6 daughter of Mr and Mrs Dallas Welling at 106 N Thire St fell from a tree while playing near the Mougey home. She cut her upper right arm on a nail driven into the tree. She was taken to Wadsworth Hospital where Dr O J Shong set ten stitches. Mother reports she is getting along nicely.
