Elmer J Smith Albert Imhoff Jr and Charles E Hardiman seek City Council. Other hopefuls remain or delay filing. Petitions due by 4 pm Wednesday August 4 in Wooster.

Former Rittman mayor Lewis Hoover 57 died Friday after a long illness. He served as mayor from 1959 and lived in Rittman all his life. Survived by son John and daughter Mary Lou Saurer two sisters and a brother. Burial in Rittman Cemetery with VFW graveside rites. Funeral conducted by Rev James E Watt at Gillman Funeral Home.
