A Friday morning accident at Route 57 A underpass involved a motorcycle driven by Mickey Greenbank of 251 West Sunset and an auto driven by Jack Larch of 55 North Second. Greenbank was treated for leg injuries at Wadsworth Rittman Hospital and released. Larch was not injured.

Ronda Ewers Electrocuted in Home Accident
Two year old Ronda Ewers daughter of Roger and Genera Ewers of Rittman Ohio died after stepping on wiring connected to a light in a silo. Rittman police reported emergency response at 5 19 pm and the child was pronounced dead on arrival at Wadsworth. She was born March 20 1971 and survived by four brothers Ricky David Dale and twin Ronnie and three sisters Dianna Sandra and Kelly Jr all at home along with grandparents Orvel and Fly Ohio residents. Funeral services were at Hadley Funeral Home New Matamoras and burial followed Gravel Hill Cemetery in Fly.

Plan To Contest Edison Rate Increase Across Cities
Thirty cities representing about 75 of the population have moved to contest Ohio Edison rate hikes by approving a preliminary study and funding. Eight rejected the proposal, sixteen took no action, and fourteen offered no reply. The group aims to cut the 25 rise for rural areas, with plans to share costs based on meter counts to determine each city’s portion. A September 12 meeting at Rittman City Hall will discuss unified rate experts and potential out of court settlement to reduce costs per meter.
