Large public funeral held for Elwin Schumacher in Rittman
Elwin Schumacher 41 died from scalds at the Ohio Boxboat Co plant. A crowd of about 500 attended the service at United Brethren church and Rittman cemetery. Military honors were given by the Howard A. Barr post 423 American Legion and a firing squad. Schumacher was a World War II veteran and former corporal with the 308th motor supply corps who served overseas in France. He is survived by his wife Béaule Boyer Schumacher and two children, plus his parents and four siblings. Arrangements were by the A. L. Ebert Funeral Home.

Brenneman Funeral Services Set in Rittman
Funeral services were held for Mrs. D W Brenneman mother and grandmother to many in Rittman at First Brethren Church. She died at 0 years and 1915 her husband preceded her. Large town turnout, pallbearers were grandsons, burial at Smithville cemetery. Brenneman family founded a Rittman grocery in 1906 and includes eight children, 23 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
