Negro boy injured in whip attack on Leonard Street
Henry Peace, a young Black man, was struck on the head with a whip by Lonnie Roundtree after a dispute at Roundtree’s Leonard Street home. Peace suffered a deep forehead gash and required stitches. a warrant was issued for Peace on assault charges as blood drew a crowd in the neighborhood.

Mrs. R. G. Conrad Died Here Sunday
Mrs. R G Conrad died Sunday afternoon at 8 o'clock at her Campbell street home after a ten day illness. A High Point resident for many years she was a respected local woman. Surviving are her husband and four sisters Mrs S M Pope Mrs O V Kester Mrs William Reid and Mrs Alice Hedrick. Funeral services were at the home Tuesday at 10 with Rev F L Conrad and Rev G Brooks. The body went to Calvary church near Thomasville for 11 o'clock service and burial in the church graveyard.

Charles Brown prominent Randolph County man and former Allen Drug pharmacist died Monday night at Guilford General Hospital after six weeks as patient. Funeral held Wednesday in Randleman with burial at Mount Lebanon Cemetery. He was 89, born May 9 1882, survived by two sisters four brothers and mother Mary E. Brown. News reached Sunday of the death of Mrs. R S Green in Petersburg Virginia. She was a sister of Mrs A V Leigh and Mrs N Cates of this city and about 30 years old. The body was taken Saturday to Stem North Carolina where the funeral and interment occurred.
