The city council of High Point adopts ordinances banning storing combustibles after 24 hours notice, prohibiting burning trash within fire limits, and forbidding smoking in theaters with fines of 10 dollars for offenses, 5 dollars for violations of burning rules, and 25 dollars per theater offense, effective immediately. City Manager R L Pickett signs dated September 7, 1920.
East Nashville grocer W N Parsons touts Thedford's Black-Draught as the genuine liver medicine. He says it relieves sour stomach headaches and indigestion, keeps the liver normal, and cleanses bowels. He urges households to always have it and denounces imitations.
