Wesley Ayers dies prominent Statesville merchant at 69
Wesley Ayers aged 69 died Wednesday afternoon after an illness of two years in Statesville. He was a retired merchant and a prominent local figure who visited his daughter Mrs. A. S. Greer recently. Born May 20, 1851, he leaves a widow, a sister Mrs. M. A. Stewart of Charlotte, four sons and four daughters. The family was taking his body to Statesville for interment.
