Funeral services were held for R R Lineberger a Chesapeake and Ohio railroad brakeman who died from injuries suffered April 16 when he fell from a freight car in a Newport News hospital died Tuesday and was buried at Gray's Chapel cemetery. Railroad lodge members from Newport News and Greensboro attended with pallbearers including William Suttle H L Allen Proctor L C Wash J A Mubarn and D B Irby. Honorary pallbearers were Heel lodge No 594 B T Greens.

A Monday night blaze in the second story of the J C Welch building on South Meia Street caused an estimated loss of 15 000 to 20 000. Jarrett Stationery Co on the first floor suffered water and smoke damage while the Clegg billiard parlor was soaked. Upper floors housed furniture showrooms with much furniture harmed. The fire started in a small storage room but was brought under control by firefighters.

A noon Thursday blaze in High Point wiped out the EjectoFile plant a two story wooden building housing filling cabinets victrolas and phonograph cabinets. Fifteen freight cars on a nearby siding were ignited with one destroyed and fourteen damaged. Traffic on the Southern railway was halted for about three hours. Firefighting relied on a long hose line due to distant hydrants. Most machinery was destroyed and a loss range was estimated at 100000 to 200000.

Greer Sentenced to Eight Months After Trial
U S Greer of this city was found not guilty of incident with intent to commit a reported incident with a young married woman. Parrish Dies From Crash Injuries at Hospital
James Parrish 26 of Randolph county died Friday night at High Point hospital from injuries suffered April 7 when the car he rode in with Frank Yates Denton was hit by Southgmn train No 137 at a Thomasville crossing. Yates remains in serious condition. Parrish's death leaves a widow and a large family.
