Intruder Shot At Home By H A Millis
H A Millis surprised a black thief in his home on Friday night. The intruder grabbed an umbrella coat and other items before Millis fired, causing him to drop the loot and flee. About 20 minutes later Millis found him in a barn, seized him, but the suspect broke away and escaped as they headed toward the police station.

Guilford Superior Court Adjourns After June Term
The June term of Guilford Superior Court adjourned after sessions began August 8. The last case involved M. T. Barber and wife of High Point suing the Carolina and Yadkin Railway for damages over condemned real estate. verdict was $2,500 with an appeal noted. J. H. Riddle of High Point was awarded $500 in a personal injury suit against the Southern Chair Company. Judge W. A. Devin of Oxford will preside over Guilford for the fall term, starting in August.

Asheboro June 22 The big depot and freight warehouse of the Norfolk Southern at Star was burned Saturday night. The new building completed on the site of the old D. and C. depot contained a large lot of freight. Two freight cars on the siding also burned. Loss complete with no figures yet.
