The Candor region in North Carolina becomes a major fruit hub as thousands pick and pack Elberta peaches and watermelons. See streets lined with empty cars, refrigerated cars, and growers like Bennett expanding wealth as land values rise from $1 to $600 per acre.
Last Saturday evening at 8 30 oclock Vesey Memorial church Miss Maoe Louie Ingram youngest daughter of and Lawson Jerome Ingram and Philip A Warner were married in the presence of guests. Reverends Lambeth and Cobl officiated. The altar was dressed with greenery Cathedral tapers and Queen Anne style floral displays with ferns and palms flanked the scene.

Ceiling and floors to be rebuilt.
Walter Poster of Old Fort wrestled a bear and used a pocket knife to defend himself. The bear died nearby after the encounter while P. H. Mashborne killed two cubs with a shotgun. Both men were crossing the Blue Ridge near Old Fort to round up cattle when the attack occurred.
Mary A. Clodfelter reports the death of 72 year old Hiram Bodenheimer at his Abbott's Creek home last Friday. He leaves a wife, ten children, 42 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral by Rev. J. M. Hillard at Abbott's Creek Missionary Baptist Church. The notice extends sympathy to the family.

U S Boggs, known as Pointer, died Sunday afternoon at 5:45 at his Mechanicsville home after a two month illness. He was 81 and survived by his widow and six children, two brothers, three sisters, and several others. Funeral held Tuesday at 11 at Spring Hill church with Rev. Thomas Carrick.
J A Barker of High Point buys a South Main lot and plans a two story modern garage starting August 1 He will sell Haynes cars and later offer automobile accessories and repair services with a trained crew of mechanics.
