The Review announces its largest weekly paper contest offering more than two thousand dollars in cash and prizes. Nominees are urged to campaign for votes with prizes including a Studebaker automobile or cash options, a building lot, diamonds, scholarships, and watches. Contest runs to September 30 with a detailed vote schedule and club bonuses.
Mrs Zimri Burns, after a long illness, died last Friday at age 61. She was born October 25 1852 in Davidson county and married January 23 1884 to Zimri Burns, survived by five children and husband. Editor offers sympathy. Also noted: Mack Lewallen died suddenly at 814 South Main Street after heart trouble, leaving a wife and ten children. Jesse Harrison promoted to district salesman for R J Reynolds Tobacco in Fayetteville. church committee seeks funds for a large pipe organ to be installed by September at North Main Street church. A nomination ballot form states that properly filled coupons entitle the nominee to 2000 votes. Only one nomination ballot is owed for each candidate.
