John A. Moss of Danville wed Miss Julia C. Howard of High Point at the home of H C Howard on Campbell street with Rev J M Hilliard officiating. The town also reports numerous pneumonia cases.
Obituaries recount Mrs. A. B. Horney dies of tuberculosis on Steele street aged 52 as funeral rites are held. Mrs. Ken W. Curlee dies on North Main street from tuberculosis. C. Rochelle, famed photographer aged 58, dies of heart disease near his studio. Mrs. Addie L. Austin dies in Dallas. burial in Hildebrand. Several other deaths follow including Mrs. Eliza Beeson and Miss Ella Dixon. Two marriages noted: W. O. Brown to W. R. Wicks in Lincolnton and Miss Louise Hill to James E. Webb in a New York couple’s ceremony. Two public beatings of officials near Dobson after a still raid.
A robbery occurred Sunday night at Mr. Will Allen’s Rankin street residence between seven and nine o’clock. The thief took $2.51 in money, a gold watch, and three pairs of trousers. Bloodhounds tracked the trail to a young man who proved his innocence. no arrest has been made.
Burglars entered the High Point Motor Car company's office Friday night and took 25 dollars left in the safe by manager George Wilson. Saturday morning the front door was found open the safe and private drawer unlocked and several checks left. the back door also open with the exit route evident.
The Empty Stocking Fund of The Review was turned over to Miss Helen McCarthy on Tuesday December 24. She delivered gifts to many needy High Point children, ensuring those most in need received the presents as contributors wished.
This new enterprise with capital stock of $125,000 succeeds the Southern Mirror Works. Stock holders include Frank Wineskie and C. F. Long among others. The company will manufacture and deal in mirrors plate window and art glass.
The West End Fire Company elected C. T. Westmoreland as Captain H. A. Oakes as Secretary and Treasurer L. H. Martin as First Fireman J. M. Teague as Second Fireman S. F. Wall as First Nozzleman T. E. Valentine as Second Nozzleman R. E. Martin as Assistant Nozzle H. R. Williams as Plugsman Chas Ferguson as Axeman J. E. Wagner as Fire Policeman J. G. Martin as Driver for the present year.
High Point should annex Mechanicsville to gain mutual advantages though Mechanicsville would benefit more. A movement in the general assembly is urged. Salvation Army opens in High Point on North Main Street in the W P Pickett building Third story occupancy welcomed by the city.
Greens boro offers a fine site for a county courthouse. Several local figures attend meetings and discuss street widening around the city park. Schools report nearly 2000 pupils. multiple business ads and notices appear as the North Carolina General Assembly convenes. Governor-elect Locke Craig will be inaugurated next Wednesday.

A morning cyclone in High Point shattered seven plate glass windows across two shops in one week. The People’s House Furnishing Company and London’s Reliable store suffered major damage due to weak framing. Trees and fences were also blown down with additional minor damages reported townwide.
An earthquake was distinctly felt at 1:28 P.M. Wednesday January 1 lasting about twenty seconds. In Lincoln County the quake was more severe with dishes overturned and several chimneys blown down.
The North Carolina Municipal Association met at the Manufacturer's Club Rooms with Mayor Tate as president and Thos. D. Meares of Wilmington as treasurer. Delegates from most cities attended as Dr. Dred Peacock urged fair revenue division between cities and counties. Mayor Tate praised the association and announced a January 16 Raleigh session with Gov. Craig and Professor Charles L. Raper among speakers.
Mrs Flora Payne of Route 2 Kenersville received a silver tableware set 10 yards of black silk and other gifts from her son Elmer Payne of Maricopa California. The story highlights his westward success and saving nearly 1800 in about two years due to home training.
