Roy Alford, a High Point man, was suspected of shooting and injuring ria Waxler and James Waxler, as Jane Moore and Ida Waxler traveled from Greensboro Monday night. Police searched for Alford who allegedly fired at Ida in the street and at James who tried to shield her. a pistol misfired three times on Jane Moore. Fire destroyed one High Point home and damaged another in Moontown, with Claude Hill’s family affected. fire origin undetermined.

Large Fire Destroys High Paint Motors Garage
A Christmas morning blaze at High Paint Motors, 129 Hamilton Street, destroyed the garage and storeroom. About 85 automobiles were involved, mostly on upper floors, with thieves reported to have stolen four cars from the first floor during the fire. Manager Guy S. Wells sustained a cut but was not seriously hurt. Insurance totals and full losses were not yet known.

E C Grissom celebrated his 94th birthday at his home northeast of High Point with family and a dinner. Born January 1 1827 he has lived near the city for over 30 years and remains active at an advanced age. The grieving community also mourns the death of Robert Lee Gray at 57 whose body arrived from Petersville Virginia and was laid to rest at Ebenezer church following services. He is survived by three sisters and a half brother.

Thomas Hagan and J H Gardner were arrested in Winston Salem on larceny charges for stealing a Ford roadster from H J Gentry of Stokesdale. Over $1,300 was found on Gardner. The men claimed to be brothers in law and to have bought the car December 18 on the High Point road.

Railroad Engineer Hurt in Fall at Trestle Near High Point
C. G. Williams, engineer, was brought to a High Point hospital after falling about 15 feet from a trestle while inspecting his locomotive on the Leeyards trestle line. He sustained injuries to his arm and shoulder and shock but is expected to recover, according to the attending physician. Williams lives near High Point and is well known in the area.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lyneth Roxana Loflin were held Monday afternoon at Pleasant Garden church with Rev. George R. Brown of First Methodist Protestant Church presiding. The funeral party departed from her Park Street home at 11 o clock Monday morning.

Funeral for Mrs Jester Held at Mechanicsville
Mrs. Sarah E. Jester died early Saturday morning at a local hospital. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. E R Suites of Mechanicsville. Interment followed at Hickory Grove Cemetery. Survivors include her husband Dr A Jester and seven children. She was 40, born May 7 1880 in Randolph County. Her parents were James and Victoria Noah. A brother E F Noah of Greensboro also survives.
