Noble in Life and Death Mrs Milton Passes After Prolonged Illness

The community mourns Mrs Sophronia Augusta Hearne Milton wife of Col D H Milton who died after cancer of the stomach. Born near Albemarle NC October 8 1847 she leaves husband three children and many friends. Funeral held at Washington Street M E Church with wide attendance and many floral tributes from across the state. The Red Men and other orders honor her memory as pallbearers and resolutions note her longtime charity and Christian life.
