Funeral of Mrs Barnes Held From Home in North Main

The funeral for Mrs H G Barnes who died Saturday morning was held at 409 North Main Street with Rev J A Clarke of First Baptist officiating. Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers included J Allen Austin E S Wall A J Idol H C Massey George Wood and Dred Peacock with a long list of honorary pallbearers. J D Blizzard Dead aged 72. Blizzard died at 721 Hamilton Street Sunday morning. Survived by three sons Albert Robert Blizzard and Walter Blizzard and a daughter Miss May Blizzard. Remains sent to Mt Airy for interment on Monday.

Beloved High Point Woman Mrs H G Barnes Dies

Mrs H G Barnes died Saturday after a pneumonia illness. Daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas H Shields of Moore county born July 30 1889 near Carthage she would have been 31. Survived by parents husband two stepdaughters Florence and Nina siblings Hune Elton Florence Ollie Meally. Funeral services were held Monday.

Car Stolen Nine Months Later Recovered in High Point

Frank McIntyre of Alabama identified a found automobile on Saturday as his stolen car. Barker had purchased the vehicle from Grady Culler, who says he bought it from another man, linking the chain of ownership back to the Alabama theft over ten months ago.

Mrs Nancy J Canoy wife of D M Canoy died Tuesday morning. J Sam Rush aged 30 died at his room in the High Point Inn at 3 am Thursday after a brief illness of influenza and pneumonia. Rush was employed by the High Point Motor Company and well known in High Point.

Flu situation improves in High Point amid easing cases

Reports from Red Cross headquarters indicate fewer flu cases since Monday and no call for nurses. Physicians expect continued improvement if fair weather holds. In other news Fred Sykes pleads guilty to non support and is ordered to pay 50 dollars a month. John Scroggins convicted of larceny. Leander Ross acquitted of assault as justifiable.
