Pythians Hold District Meeting With Banquet In Greensboro

The Pythians from Spray Winston Reidsville Greens boro Haw River Liberty Siler City Burlington Ramseir High Point and Lexington met yesterday in Greensboro. A public session followed by a business meeting ended with a banquet at the American Cafe. Notable speech by Mr Baird titled It Makes a Difference.

U S Marines Seize Vera Cruz Customs House War News

Washington reports say Marines and sailors took Vera Cruz customs house with four killed and twenty wounded. The action followed Huerta’s break with the United States over Tampico and arms shipments. Rear Admiral Fletcher warned further firing would be met with big gun fire as Congress considers the President’s plan. Galveston confirms the seizure and lists the Florida crew among the fallen and wounded.

Reds and Blues Play Night at Marr's Chapel

The Reds will entertain the Blues at Marr's Chapel Friday night April 24 at 7 30. All Blues and Reds are asked to attend. Refreshments will be served and a short program rendered. It is hoped the new rooms will be finished by then. Be there to get acquainted and enjoy the good time.

A morning blaze destroyed the Samuel B&Gofin factory along with a store and four dwellings. Winds gusting to gale force aided rapid spread.
