The paper costs two dollars per year payable semiannually in advance. Subscriptions start at six months. papers won’t be discontinued until arrears are paid. Mailed papers and others are at subscribers’ expense. Ads run three times at one dollar per square with twenty five cents for each additional insertion, all ad payments in cash.
Administrators of the estates of Samuel Pege of Derry township and John Shuman of Cettawissa township have filed accounts of Administration in Columbia County Registers Office. The Orphans Court will consider the accounts for confirmation and allowance at Danville on the first Monday of January. Elis Hughes, Register. Dec. 5.
Yankey Nations announces a large stock of first quality cheese and a general assortment for a country store offered cheap for cash or part credit near Northumberland. He plans to discontinue mercantile business on the first day of next January and asks debtors to call soon. Northumberland November 25.
A notice states the Danville lodging house formerly run by Mrs. Spence and lately by William Hesler is now operated as a house of public entertainment. The new proprietor promises good liquors and accommodations for gentlemen attending courts and arbitrators, etc. He will offer moderate terms and ensure hay, oats, and feed for horses.
Gabriel Reeser informs the public he will occupy the tavern stand on the Berwick to Eas ton turnpike formerly kept by Peter Stair about ten miles from Berwick. He intends to keep liquors and accommodations for man and horse and asks public help to recover losses. Accommodations will be cheap and high quality. November 7.
An 1820s advertisement for Dr. John G. Voughts Anti-Dysenteric Medicine highlights its claimed efficacy against dysentery diarrhea and bilious disorders. It lists usage guidance for children and travelers, praises testimonials from military and civilian users, and notes a $1 price with distribution in New York and Pennsylvania.
All persons indebted to the estate of Issaiah Willetts late of Cattawissa deceased are requested to come forward and settle accounts before January 4. Administrators will attend at the deceased’s house in Cattawissa each Friday from September 20 until January 4. Those with claims must present them authenticated for settlement. neglect will be answered. Cattawissa August 7 1824. Notice to creditors of George Sweeney insolvent case Danville November 21.
Notice to farmers that cash will be paid for hops at current market price by Philip Goodman on Oct 3, 1824. The advertisement invites hop growers to bring their harvest to the market for payment based on prevailing rates.
A fragmentary note lists goads and tins for sale in Bloonspurs with ambiguous context. It reads as a transient auction or trade item listing from an unidentified source.
The subscriber informs the public of a recent addition to his stock including saddlery dry goods groceries hardware hollow ware crokery and glass ware. A quantity of fur hats straw bonnets hand snares bar iron speel salt and more are on hand.
A complete set of surveying instruments is offered for sale by Peter Haas living at Washington. Persons interested may apply to the subscriber. November 24.
Joseph Wellsver applies for relief under state acts for insolvent debtors and creditors are notified that the Court of Common Pleas of Columbia County has scheduled a hearing on the first Monday in January at the Banville courthouse.
