Memorial barbecue honors Brooklyn friend John Cannucci
The VFW in Red Hook hosted a September 4 memorial barbecue for John Cannucci, a 53 year old longtime Brooklyn resident and school maintainer and referee. Proceeds may fund uniforms for PS 29 basketball. Friends and family recall Cannucci as a unifying, friendly figure nicknamed Mad Jack.
