Cobble Hill Faces Skyward Shift With LICH Redevelopment
Fortis Group presented two residential plans for the former Long Island Hospital campus in Cobble Hill, both featuring skyscrapers. A master plan seeks three towers west of Hicks Street with city council cooperation. an as-of-right plan proposes a 44 story tower on Pacific Street near Henry, threatening the historic brownstone neighborhood. The CHA, part of a lawsuit over LICH’s sale, recalls 50 foot height limits under local landmarks law, though LICH is not covered.
