Red Hook fires and crime in historical neighborhood study
Josh Parker lectures at Pioneer Works on Red Hook’s past fires from 1851 to the late 1980s using Brooklyn Collection archives. He overlays historic images with present day views to show how fires tied to distilleries and cotton buildings shaped local geography and memory. The 5 7 pm event at 139 Pioneer Street asks for a $5 10 donation.
