Gowanus Residents Fight Rezoning Push and virtual meetings
Grassroots coalition led by Voice of Gowanus secured a temporary restraining order halting ULURP progress over rezoning plans. In a Feb hearing Judge Katherine Levine debated adding in person options to virtual meetings while city officials argued telework sufficed. The suit alleges lack of transparency and participation, citing only virtual meetings since September and prior failed community planning efforts under Bridging Gowanus.
