Park plan contested as HPD blocks Woodhull Street project
Local resident Lou Formisano has cultivated a vacant lot at Woodhull and Columbia Streets into a makeshift community space with chairs, a grill, and sod, while HPD maintains the site is part of a larger affordable housing plan and cannot be permanently converted to parkland. Neighbors rally around a proposed Woodhull Garden and Green Thumbs site, awaiting Parks Department review.
