A military group attended the Sunday dedication of a new West Point chapel costing 420000. Built on a summit overlooking the Hudson, the Gothic structure seats about 1000 with a basement Sunday school hall. Local granite and Indiana limestone outline the exterior, with Guastavina tile interiors and niches for statues of famous soldiers.
A Dallas News correspondent notes alfalfa is now well established in the Panhandle with trials yielding success without irrigation. Hon. Cone Johnson, candidate for governor, will speak in Amarillo on June 22 at p.m. The Johnson Club has received word he will present his claim for governor at the stated hour.
