Distress in Western Kansas Bank Closings Rising
Western Kansas banks with small capital are nearing closure due to loss of depositor confidence and western depopulation. Drought harm endures, seeds cost money, Governor declines extra session aid. Several New York firms reported as assigns or attached, and local failures touch Baker & Bircall in Sioux City and Warda’s Bank in Forestville. Terre Haute Car Works Company, Indiana, large employer, is noted.
