The Colonel's Story of Captain Holliday and War
Captain Holliday rises from Boston enlistment to lead a company sent south to battle. He saves Butler's army at Big Bethel, joins forces in Louisiana, conducts burial for a Catholic officer, and clashes with Banks. After defeats, Holliday protests brutality, vows resignation, and searches for his wife Felicita and child Angelica, who escape to Havana and New York, ending with Aunt Venus in New Orleans running a boarding house.
