Editor Gapen Dies Suddenly Saturday
Fred A. Gapen editor and publisher of The Telegraph in Sidney Nebraska died suddenly at his home on Saturday September 14 after a brief illness following years of declining health. Born 1870 in Bloomington Illinois he came to Sidney in 1894 and ran The Telegraph for twenty three years. He is survived by three sisters and a brother Judge Henry I. Gapen who led the paper. Funeral held Tuesday at home with Episcopal service.
