Little Kaune Girl Shows Extreme Bravery
Phyllis Kaune, ten, daughter of Henry Kaune, broke her arm in two places after a horse threw her near town last Friday. She told her father it wasn’t his fault, and later expressed interest in a plane ride as Llerbert Johnson flew overhead. Rushed to Dr Roche in Sidney, then to St Joseph Hospital in Denver, doctors later expressed hope she would regain use of the arm though healing may be slow. Her mother remains with her as physicians monitor her recovery.

About fifty people from the Lutheran church Ladies Guild and friends gathered Sunday evening at the HI. P. Hansen home west of town to bid Mr. and Mrs. Hansen farewell before their move to Denver. Guests brought food baskets and shared a feast, ending with a gift of an electric library table lamp as a memento of friendship.
