High School Daily Program For Loree Entrance

The public is informed of Loree's daily study schedule starting Monday with a new teacher. Timings cover supervision, Latin I II, English, geometry, history, science, algebra, shorthand, spelling, and electives for juniors and seniors. The note urges parental cooperation and home study.

Potter club forms a horse shoe group with planned contests

A Horse Shoe Throwers Club has been organized in Potter with charter members E Cords N S Miller E H Biggs Peter Hansen E H Seyfang Geo Gunderson and C A Larsen. Other players include August Mielke A M Leafdale Edgar Leafdale F C Harris Dean Hagemeister Lee Hagemeister and Wm Hagemeister. Dr A J Ames named chief referee. Tennis and croquet are also being considered by the club.

Legion Day brings western shows and small crowds

Legion Day activities drew a smaller attendance than expected though events like the bucking contest and relay race drew some fans. Cody Patterson won seven dollars fifty in the relay on Art Nelson’s horses, while Patterson also took ten dollars in the bucking contest on Dynamite. Several riders faced rough outings and near misses, with judges L. H. Caywood Ed Thornburg and Ted Anderson named for the day. The local theatre show and dance drew only fair crowds.

Potter Bear Cats Split Week With Loss and Win In Baseball

The Potter Bear Cats dropped a Sunday game at Julesburg then rebounded Tuesday by defeating Kimball during the American Legion celebration. Schellenberg starred on the mound with two home runs at bat. Lodge Pole’s Munson pitched and took the loss while Babe Ruth of Lodge Pole Valley League labeled credit to Schellenberg for the win.

Ladies Guild Meets at Mrs J A Woten Home

About 75 members attended a profitable meeting at Mrs J A Woten’s home on Thursday afternoon. Officers elected were Mrs Peter Hansen president, Mrs J R Bartlett vice president, Mrs E H Biggs secretary, and Mrs Chas Gunderson treasurer. Piecing quilt blocks entertained, coffee cake and ice cream served.

Sidney Boosters Defeat City Ball Team in Sidneys Game

Rev C C Troy John Paylat R A Babcock Charles Cords C E Biggs E H Biggs Carl Pritchard and John Whitstine attended the ball game in Sidney on Monday afternoon. The game was between New Castle and the Sidney Boosters but New Castle was not in a class with the Boosters and of course the game was very un interesting.
