Potter Days drew large crowds with thronged streets and a standout entry by Ed Erickson’s steam tractor. Mr and Mrs John Witt returned from Fremont after attending the funeral of their son in law Edward R Metzger 41 a World War veteran who suffered illness since 1931 and died August 20 1938 at Fort Lyon Colorado He served 1917 1919 in the Hawaiian and Philippine theaters and later operated electrical shops in Leigh Dodge and Central City His wife Clara Witt and four children survive He received a military funeral from the Legion and 40 and 8 organizations officiated by Rev Charles R Lichte, Congregational pastor.

Duck wagon feed relied on experienced men Roy Nelson and others. After rain, campers continued, frying seventy pounds of steak, biscuits, coffee, beans and spuds. Feeder pigs sold Tuesday in Kimball: prices $5.25 to $9.60 per head, sows about $6.00 per cwt, fat hogs $8.65, calves $5.80, bulls $4.60.

Potter will again have a collective exhibit of agricultural products at the county fair next week. Non perish able Potter Days exhibits will be entered. A new one of fresh vegetables fresh shoot forage is requested. Please have your entry in on Monday, or not later than early Tuesday morning. All entries will be eligible for county premiums. Individual premiums go to the exhibitor. even though you did not exhibit Potter Days you are welcome to enter your exhibits with the Potter display. In the sheaf forage, 4 stalks constitutes an entry.
Hospital Opening in Kimball Announces New Office

Rainfall Update Across Potter Territory
Deluging rains were reported last Friday evening especially in the territory north east of Potter. A light shower fell here Tuesday evening and a three hour slow rain Wednesday evening. As we go to press Thursday it is starting to rain again. Over an inch and a half has been recorded here since last Thursday.
