Cheyenne Chamber Recommends Repeal of Estate Tax
Cheyenne chamber directors adopted recommendations to repeal the present Federal estate and inheritance tax, arguing the wartime need has passed and urging formation of a joint federal state tax coordinating body. Vincent Carter, state auditor, presented the plan and will forward the referendum responses to the national chamber.
Taxation and banking reform proposals debated by Cheyenne chamber
A Cheyenne chamber of commerce discussion covered emergency wartime laws and estate taxes, arguing against federal inheritance taxes as a state-reserved revenue tool. It also supported coordinating national and state tax systems to cut double taxation and endorsed four measures to empower national banks, including branches, charter duration, investment securities, and five year real estate loans.
