A severe hail and rain storm battered Peetz with continuous hail for 40 minutes. Hail began buckshot sized and grew to golf ball size, wrecking most composition roofs. The lumber yard scale recorded 310 pounds of hail after the storm.

Ditch digging tragedy claims two Scottsbluff youths
Claude Meier aged 15 was killed and Ray Russell 15 nearly killed while playing in a dirt ditch being dug on West 14th Street for city water extensions in Scottsbluff. Owen Russell 13 pulled Ray from the dirt and neighbors rescued Meier, but artificial respiration failed at the hospital.

Ichio Miatsutama an 18 year old Paxton 4H member died of pneumonia four days short of graduating Paxton High School class of 1933. Car crash at Bedgwick reservoir injures Stockham family
The foreman's car crowded from the road on the south side of Bedgwick reservoir rolled down the bank seven times. Miss Stockham, 18, drove with her 14 year old brother and a younger sister. The child escaped injury, the brother had an injured back, and Miss Stockham suffered a broken collar bone and cuts from glass. A vehicle crowding them was said to be from Lodge Pole.

Oil Truck Collision Kills Driver in Oshkosh Area
An oil truck overturned on the east side of Oshkosh killing driver James McConnell and seriously injuring passenger William Reipel. Reipel, dazed and injured, could not explain the crash as doctors were summoned. Forty stitches secured head wounds. the accident occurred in front of the Friday residence, witnessed by Mr. Friday and his daughter. Mr. Friday transported the injured and deceased to Oshkosh.
